A Little About Us

Our company was started by a true gentleman, Mr. Don Bristol. Don, his father and brother opened 'The House Doctor' in 1947. In the beginning, they did electrical, plumbing and heating for area homes. The electrical business grew steadily and in the 50's the name changed to 'Bristol Electric'.

In 1969, our current owner, Jim Waite, began working for Don. Jim became a partner in 1980 and the name was changed again to 'D&J Electric'. Don retired in 1983 and Jim became the sole owner. Several years ago, the name changed once again, this time to 'Craftsmen Electrical Services'. We were not trying to confuse everyone, really, but we had a name conflict with another company in the area. We hope that the name change game is finally done.

Though there have been several names and many changes over the years, there have only been two owners, both Fenton residents. Both dedicated to providing superior electrical service to our friends in Fenton and the surrounding area.

Licensing

Craftsmen Electrical Services is a State of Michigan licensed Electrical Contractor, #61-04888.
Currently all of our electricians carry a Master Electrician's license. The Michigan Masters License is the highest level offered. It requires a minimum of six years of training, schooling, testing and ongoing code update classes.
You should be aware that many "handyman/electricians" do not have the proper training or licenses to legally perform electrical work in your home. Please feel free to ask for our documentation. We would be happy to provide that information to you.
